As you journey through life, one of the most fundamental and empowering identities you can claim is that of being a unique child of God. This identity transcends earthly labels and defines your purpose, worth, and destiny in ways that nothing else can. From the moment you were formed in your mother’s womb to your final breath, God's love and claim on you as His child uniquely created by Him for a plan and purpose remains steadfast, unwavering and eternal.

He values you more than you can understand and comprehend, nothing will separate you from His love. He uniquely fashioned you with a plan and a purpose, a good plan to give you a hope and a future. You are the apple of His eye. He wanted you to be created, just as you are so He took it upon Himself to create you. Did you hear me, He created you just as you are because He wanted you just as you are. You have got to get this in the core of your being! He doesn't make mistakes, He doesn’t make junk! Stop looking at yourself through your own eyes and look at yourself through His, He sees you as a beautiful design of perfection!

In Psalm 139:13-18, the psalmist describes God's intimate involvement in your creation:

For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You.

This passage beautifully captures God's personal involvement in creating you from the earliest moments of your existence. It affirms that He fashioned you, for a specific plan and purpose.

He created your spirit which is the innermost essence of you, connecting you to Him. It is your spiritual component that enables you to communion with Him and reflect His divine attributes such as wisdom, understanding, and faith. "But there is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding." Job 32:8 "The burden of the word of the Lord against Israel. Thus says the Lord, who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him." Zechariah 12:1. It is your spirit that receives witness that you are a child of God. “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.” Romans 8:16 “And the spirit will return to God who gave it.” Ecclesiastes 12:7b when you leave this planet after fulfilling your plan and purpose.

He created your individual and unique soul, which encompasses your individuality, personality, mind, will and emotions, which you uniquely experience and process life with your desires, feelings and thoughts. It is your soul that experiences joy, sorrow, pain and love and it is your soul that responds to life’s circumstances. Like no two people on the earth have the same fingerprints, so too is it with the soul.

He made your body, just like He made Eve. Another word for made is fashioned. He fashioned your body and all its internal and external parts. He used your biological parents to give you certain characteristics, like skin, hair and eye color and body shape. You have their DNA and God’s DNA.

In the garden Eve was naked and she was unashamed. Genesis 2:25. You were created to be unashamed of your appearance and body. Boy, if women could just get that, there wouldn’t be a diet and beauty industry making billions of dollars a year. Unfortunately, I don’t know many women that are happy with their appearance or with their body. Most women look in the mirror and think to themselves, “ugh” about something. They then think negatively about themselves, “I am this” or “I am that.” Their mind then goes to something about their appearance that they should change. They start debating internally if they should lose weight by going on a diet, exercising, or doing something about their hair, eyes, or teeth. They use numerous products everyday to enhance their natural beauty because they don’t like what they see and believe that the numerous products will make them look and feel better. I am sure you are agreeing with me at this point because you have probably done the mental gymnastics that I just described thousands of times without even recognizing that you do this. Do you know that most men don’t do this? They typically look in the mirror and think to themselves, I need to shave or I need to comb my hair. For the most part, they don’t go internal and start thinking about all the negative things about themselves that they don’t like and that they need to make changes. Your Father wants you to change your thinking about your appearance and body, He doesn’t want you to keep condemning yourself. He wants you to start looking at yourself through His eyes, and see yourself as beautiful.

Now I am not saying that a person can abuse their body by making bad choices as those choices will have consequences and it goes against His word. "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.

What I am saying is that you need to have grace for yourself and start thinking positively about yourself, because He made you and He doesn’t make junk. You need to renew your mind. Romans 12:2 "but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." It is God’s will that you not condemn yourself as there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus.

He also created you to have a unique plan and purpose in His Kingdom that only you can do. It is a good plan, a plan not to harm you, but to give you a hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. I cannot do your plan and you cannot do mine. It has been uniquely designed for you. Ephesians 2:10: "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." He prepared what you would do before He created you. Also see 1 Corinthians 12:4-7: "There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all." and Romans 12:4-8: "For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness."

These scriptures emphasize that each person has a unique purpose and plan in the Kingdom of God. God has thoughts of peace and a future full of hope for you, and He has created you with specific gifts and talents to fulfill good works that He has prepared for you. Your role contributes to the overall well-being and growth of the body of believers, as it is valuable and necessary for the Kingdom's work on earth.

Whatever you do, do not, I repeat, do not, compare yourself, your talents, your abilities, your resources, or anything else with another person. The Bible warns us not to do this in Galatians 6:4-5 and 2 Corinthians 4:12. Comparing ourselves to others can lead to several negative outcomes, both emotionally and spiritually: low self-esteem; jealousy and envy; being fake; unhappiness and a spiritual distraction.

Comparing yourself to others can erode your self-esteem and confidence. When you focus on perceived deficiencies or shortcomings compared to others, you may feel inadequate or inferior.

Also, comparison often breeds jealousy and envy. Instead of celebrating others' successes, you may feel resentful or envious, which can harm relationships as you can become critical or judgmental and hinder your own growth. Comparing yourself to others may cause you to imitate or conform to what you believe others have or are, rather than staying true to yourself. This can lead to a sense of inauthenticity and dissatisfaction with your own life. Measuring yourself against others' standards can fuel a cycle of unhappiness and discontent. It may lead to a perpetual feeling of not being good enough or never achieving satisfaction. From a spiritual perspective, comparing yourself to others can distract you from your unique journey and purpose in God's plan. It can shift your focus away from cultivating a deeper relationship with God and fulfilling His calling for your life.

Instead of comparing yourself to others, try focusing on self-improvement, gratitude, and embracing your individuality. This can lead to a more fulfilling and spiritually enriching life. Understanding that each person has been uniquely created with a unique path and purpose in God's Kingdom can help you appreciate our own uniqueness and your own journey.

As you mature and navigate life's challenges, the assurance of being God's unique child with a unique plan will help guide you. On your journey through life, you get to make choices and decisions. You get to choose not only minor decisions, like what you wear or eat, but major decisions as well, where to go to college, if at all, who to have a relationship with and who to marry, what career, whether to have children or not. He loves you so much, He delights in you making these decisions, just like He delighted in Adam naming the animals. He wants to partner with you and have you seek His guidance, but it is you who ultimately gets to make the decision. Don’t worry because we all mess up and when you do mess up, He doesn’t shame you, condemn you or punish you. Instead, He makes “all things work together for the good of those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28.

If you embrace your uniqueness and the individualized plan that he has for your life, then when you get to the end of your journey here on this planet, the tomb and go beyond to paradise, you will receive a glorified body, stand before Him and hear the words, “Well done good and faithful servant.”

In order to begin embracing your individualization and how wonderfully and beautifully made you are, start proclaiming Bible scriptures that confirm this. Here are a few: "You are all fair, my love, and there is no spot in you." Song of Solomon 4:7; “You were exceedingly beautiful, and succeeded to royalty.” Ezekiel 16:13; and "Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." 1 Peter 3:3-4.

Also, start declaring the following affirmations:

"I am unique and valuable, and my beauty shines from within."

"I embrace my flaws and imperfections because they make me who I am—a beautiful and authentic person."

"I radiate positivity and kindness, and that inner beauty reflects in everything I do."

"I am deserving of love, respect, and appreciation for the beautiful person that I am."

"I am more than my appearance; my intelligence, kindness, and talents make me truly beautiful."

"I choose to see beauty in myself and others, celebrating diversity and individuality."

"My confidence and self-love make me incredibly attractive inside and out."

"I am a work of art, sculpted by God's hands, and I embrace my unique beauty."

"I am worthy of self-care and self-compassion, nurturing my body, mind, and spirit."

"I am grateful for the beauty that surrounds me and the beauty that I bring into the world."

Remember because you have been made by Him, you are more beautiful than any piece of art, any tapestry or anything made with human hands. Understanding and embracing your identity as a child of God, uniquely designed with a distinctive purpose is transformative. It will change how you view yourself, others, and your purpose in the world. As you journey from the womb to the tomb, embrace who you are as you are beautiful, just the way He created you!
